Banana bread

  • Baking soda: 1 tsp
  • Banana (ripe): 3
  • Butter (melted): 1/3 cup
  • Egg: 1
  • Flour: 1 1/2 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar: 3/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • Walnuts (chopped): 1/2 cup
  1. Preheat the oven to 180c.
  2. In a large bowl, mix butter into the mashed bananas, using wooden spoon.
  3. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  5. Add the flour last, mix just enough to blend the ingredients; do not overmix, the lumps will work themselves out.
  6. Add chopped walnuts to the batter and mix them in to distribute evenly through the batter.
  7. Butter a loaf pan. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper, butter the parchment paper too and pour the batter in the pan.
  8. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack.
